Indian Gooseberry


Amla is a rich source of natural vitamin-C. As we cannot make our own vitamin C, one should not wait for the application of vitamin C until one gets ill. Like oxygen and water, vitamin C is an indispensable part of the life of every living creature.
 It is beneficial to heart patients. It helps in lowering cholesterol and blood sugar level. It helps in producing good quality red blood cells.

It also makes our body's immune system strong therefore help to fight diseases.

It also works as brain tonic and helps to grasp thing easily.

It is very helpful in countering kapha, hence very helpful in throwing out sputum from the respiratory tract. It gives very good results in chronic cough.

It also strengthens the teeth. It is helpful in improving liver function. Good results have also been seen in gastric ulcers.
It also prevents premature graying of hairs and dandruff. Indian women generally use Amla to wash their hairs, which act as natural hair conditioner.

Now we can see one receipe using AMLA
Ingredients:
Spinach,Amaranth-2 bunches
Amla-1 cup
Seasame seeds-1tbs
Mustard-1tbs
Poppy seeds-1tbs

Wash spinach and amaranth and cut it into small pieces. Add sufficient water and salt and cook it until get 3 whizzles. Boil amla separately.After that remove seeds from amla and grind leaves and this amla well and make it a paste. Grind seasame, mustard and poppy seeds make it a powder.
Place pan on stove with 2tbs of oil. After getting hot, add mustard seeds, When they start to crackle add curry leaves, red chillies, cumin seeds, Bengal gram. Then add that grinded paste. After cooked, add salt and prepared powder and stir it well. Then curry is ready to eat.
